About Adela Adela Holmes Cook died from injuries sustained in a golf car accident on April 10, 2009 during a trip in the Bahamas. A natural beauty in every way, Adela adored her family and friends of all ages and cherished the lowcountry. She loved the outdoors and was an avid runner, who clocked many miles throughout the Charleston area while a student a Charleston Day School and later Bishop England. She treasured her days hanging out at the beach or on the boat. Adela was looking forward to joining her many friends at the college she had always dreamed of attending, The University of South Carolina.
